My name is Olena. I came to Canada from Ukraine seventeen years ago. Once standing stable on my own two feet, I started my apiary in 2017, building on the love for bees taught to me by my grandparents Vasyl and Lydia, pictured below, in Ukraine.
Today I tend twenty hives on the edge of the Pacific, in Sooke on Vancouver Island – one of the most naturally abundant and unspoiled corners of British Columbia.
In Ukrainian, lito means summer. It is the season of abundance, of warmth, of long golden evenings. It is the season the bees live for – and so do we. Every jar and every frame of Lito honey is capturing summer, kept for enjoyment any time of the year.

Sooke sits at the southern tip of Vancouver Island, where old-growth forest meets the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Our bees forage freely across wildflower meadows, coastal blooms, and forest edges – blackberry, clover, fireweed, wild rose, and lavender among them.
This landscape is reflected in every jar. The honey you taste is a direct expression of this place, this season, and this particular summer – nothing more, nothing less.
We do not blend. We do not filter beyond what is necessary to remove large bits of wax. We do not add anything that was not already there.

Thank you for being here.
Lito is a small business built on a big belief – that food made with genuine care tastes the best. We hope you taste the difference.
